As advertised this is very sturdy and silent. It adjusts for both myself and my 6′4″ husband.

And there is a speaker for plug in with any MP3 player such as an iPod or a BlackBerry.

It took 1 1/2 hours to assemble.

Following a total knee replacement, I went to Physical Therapy 3 times a week for 2 months. I started each session by riding the Diamondback Fitness Step-Thru Recumbent Exercise Bike . . . and really loved it! The bike was smooth, silent, and had many options for maximizing your exercise. After I was dismissed from PT, I wanted to continue my exercises at home. I found the exact same bike on Amazon. Knowing how quick Amazon delivers, I ordered the bike and it arrived within 2-3 days. This bike is phenomenal! It has so many features, some I use regularly (speed, resistance, heart rate), others, I need to learn. There are special settings for additional options. There is a comprehensive operating manual that accompanys the bike.

I was very excited on receiving my Diamondback exercise bike. I used it for a couple of weeks and loved it. Then all of a sudden it started making a loud noise very time I peddled. After reading my manual and trying to get information regarding possible repair I was suprised to find out that because i bought thru Amazon my warranty on the exercise bike was invalid. Since i was under my 30 days i made the choice to return the bike because it was defective. I which that i can replace with another one, but i don’t want to have an item that has no warranty. I will have to look elsewhere for my future buy.

Fantastic Bike. Shop around for best price.

This bike is a fantastic buy at $399. I found it on another site for $399 and they had a 10% off code. SO I got it at $341 plus free shipping. Still at $399 it’s a fantastic deal. Caution when assembling. Some of the parts and bolts will seem missing, but they are already place in the holes. Also where the neck of the bike handlebar fits into the pedal box, you will have to remove a black protective case. Three bolts are in there that you will need to remove and replace wfter sliding the bar into it. Took me about an hour to assble one person. I rode it for an hour right after and was very pleased.

    Excellent Investment

This is a pretty excellent bike. It’s heavy and sturdy for the price. The bike rides smooth and relatively silent. I can still hear the tv just fine when riding. It wasn’t hard to place together, just bulky and awkward at times. The levels are more hard than I thought they would be. Level 5 on this bike is certainly harder than on the gym stationary bikes I’ve used. You’ll certainly get a workout. The fan doesn’t really do anything though, but I didn’t expect much from that. The seat can become uncomfortable about about 15-20 minutes of riding. The heart rate monitor seems somewhat right..give or take 10 beats. The matching water bottle is a plus. It’s a bit heavy so make sure the spot you picked for it is the spot you want it for excellent. I built it in the room that I was putting it and I’m glad I did that. Overall, fantastic bike.

Bike selected after trying others. Simple to assemble if you pay strict attention to manual. Sturdy and comfortable. Better than many costly competitive bikes.

Fantastic features but some minor problems
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
First the excellent: This is a really nice bike. The sixteen step eddy current resistance works smooth. The seat is comfortable and it slides back far enough to accommodate my height (6′5″). I burn 150 calories on it three times a week and have found it to be money very very well spent.

The problem: I’ve had to remove the plastic cover surrounding the flywheel to oil the flywheel bearing. During the first week I had it, it started making a clicking noise while riding, then escalated to a squealing noise. Not long after oiling, the clicking noise has come back intermittently. I consider it a minor annoyance.

    Top quality bike
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
For the price I paid ($399. w/free shipping) I reckon I bought the best exercise bike available.

The assembly was the only part of the deal that could be somewhat improved. I reckon the size of the illustrations in the booklet are a small small, and I did need to go to the hardware store for additional bolts.

Now that everything’s up and running, the bike is running like a top. I recommend this bike to anyone wanting a well priced exercise bike with right quality.

    Fantastic Bike For The Money

Before I bought this bike I did a lot of research on the Schwinn 230. I was getting ready to buy it and chose to go to Sears to check it out. My first impression of the Swchinn is that it looked cheap. I rode it for awhile and was not impressed. I chose to look elsewhere.

I chose to go with the Diamondback 500SR. With nowhere to test this bike I took my chances. At only $399 I figured it would also be pretty cheap looking and feeling, but it was worth a shot.

It arrived in a large box. I was worried when I opened it that I would find hundreds of pieces to place together. To my surprise there were only about ten pieces that I needed to place together.

It took me less than an hour to place together. I only got stumped a couple of times. The directions were asking for screws that we’re not in the hardware kit. It turned out that they were already screwed in where they were supposed to go. I just needed to unscrew them, align the part and then screw it back in. It was very simple to place together.

The bike and show look better than the Schwinn’s, in my opinion. It rides about the same.

I was looking for a recumbent bike because of some major lower back problems that I have. This bike is very comfortable. The adjustments on the seat back give me the support that I need.

The only issue I do have is the fan. Give me a break. If you’re going to spend time on designing a bike with a fan on it make sure it displaces measureable air.

I have a gym at work with a couple expensive recumbent bikes. The Diamondback bike cannot compare to these. You do get what you pay for. But, for $399 I’m pleased with my buy.

    Surpassed my expectations
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
The Diamondback 500Sr is an investment in my own health that has exceeded my expectations. My resting pulse has gone down to 70, my cardio endurance has improved, and I have less early fatigue. Also, I am shedding pounds of stout. The bike is overall well made. The only things I wish were better was the console embedded fan and the seat bottom. The fan is meager and the seat could be a small more generously upholstered. I like the bike’s console layout with the various readouts. It has 16 resistance levels that will challenge your fitness ambitions. With consistent use, I am meeting my own goals of weight loss and cardio improvement. Recumbents are simple on the low back, hips, and knees in case you wanted to know. :o )

    The perfect bike
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I bought the recumbent bike because my wife has serious back problems. She likes the bike and uses it nearly everyday. The upright bike hurt her back so terrible, the pain lasted many times all day and night. The recumbent helps her back and eases pain. The quality of the Diamondback is equal to many brands that sell for two to four times the price. The back and seat pads are as excellent and comfortable as those used in gyms and simple adjustments a fit for anyone. I highly recommend the Diamondback 500Sr.
